So a few more years have passed.
Fugu wound up winning the Frank Collins trophy in the 2012 Friday Fun Race series.
She has had so very much work done on her since:
Her mast was serviced.
- 4 new sheaves at the mast head
- 2 new jib halyards
- 1 new main halyard (I had already replaced the other a few years ago)
- 1 spinnaker halyard
- 2 pole-lift halyards
- new wind instrument (Standard Horizon WS-150)
- installed a VHF antenna
- new Windex (gift from a yard neighbour who broke it, quite by accident)
- new LED anchor light, and wiring
- new LED steaming/deck light and wiring
- ran a wire for a spreader light
- All new through-deck fitting for all these new wires. Only the VHF and wind cables actually passes through the deck. All the others are water-tight connectors.
The electrical system is still non-existant. This will change this year.
The new panel is laid out and ready to be cut/varnished.
The remaining switches have been ordered.
The new propulsion system is waiting to be installed --> This will require a dedicated section. There is just too much to discuss here.
The cockpit teak has been replaced.
There was a bent support pole by the nav-desk down below. It has been replaced.
It is presently March 2014. Snow still blankets the boat yard and makes doing any paint/epoxy work difficult to impossible. I am preparing as much as I can at home and hopefully, spring will bring with it a flurry of activity.
